Halayko Named Memorial Day Parade Grand Marshal

Kathleen Halayko, principal of Mt. Daniel Elementary School, was named the Grand Marshal for the City of Falls Church’s 2016 Memorial Day Parade, according to a press release from the City of Falls Church sent out on Wednesday, March 9.

The Recreation and Parks Advisory Board chose Halayko for her 28 years of service to Mt. Daniel, the City’s public school for kindergarten and first grade students. “I am absolutely overwhelmed by the outpouring of appreciation,” Halayko said.

“When I saw who was selected as Grand Marshal in previous years, I was so thankful to be grouped with such important people in the City of Falls Church! I am extremely flattered by this!” For more information, visit fallschurchva.gov/MemorialDay.
