Concussion Expert Speaks at MEH Friday Morning

A George Mason University scientist will be visiting Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School, 7150 Leesburg Pike, as a guest lecturer Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. Dr. Shane Caswell is a sports medicine scientist and he will talk about how he uses research to reduce sports injuries and concussions in youth athletics. He will also provide insights about his work as part of the USA Science & Engineering Festival’s Nifty Fifty (times 4) Program which sends more than 200 top scientists and engineers into area schools in advance of the festival to ignite students’ passion for science and engineering.

The festival will take place in Washington, D.C. April 16-17.
