‘Hope On Ice’ Event to Benefit American Cancer Society

Tysons Ice Rink, located at 1961 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, will host a three-day public skating event from Friday, Feb. 19 – Sunday, Feb. 21 called Hope on Ice to benefit the American Cancer Society. The inaugural event will give local residents an opportunity to celebrate survivors, honor the lives of those lost and help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

The kicks off on Friday, Feb. 19 from 3 – 8 p.m. with a opening ceremony planned for 4 p.m. on Friday with cancer survivors, Tysons Rink General Manager Marissa Marwell and American Cancer Society staff.

At 9 p.m. on Friday there will be a moment of silence, during which the rink will be surrounded by Luminaria to honor loved ones who died of cancer and those who are fighting cancer. Luminaria can be purchased on site for $10.

DJ Civil and other live performers will provide entertainment for the Friday event and there will be complimentary treats from Earls Kitchen & Bar and S’mores Bar. Games and activities will be hosted by Crunch Fitness.

Tickets for the event are $12, four of which will go to the American Cancer Society.  The first 50 cancer survivors to register to be celebrated will receive a limited edition Hope on Ice t-shirt and be entered into drawings for swag bags featuring items from Tysons Corner Center retailers.
