A fundraiser for Mia Grace Baroukh, the daughter of Falls Church City Councilmember Nader Baroukh who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in November 2015, is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 11 at Clare and Don’s Beach Shack at 130 N. Washington Street.
Mia Grace underwent a 14-hour surgery within days of being diagnosed to have the brain tumor removed. Despite frequent stays at Inova Fairfax Children’s Hospital for ongoing rounds of chemotherapy, she continues to be her sassy, very verbal, almost three-year-old self.
At the fundraiser, Clare and Don’s will donate a percentage of food sales from the entire day to the Baroukh family. There will also be a silent auction from 5 – 8 p.m. with prizes like Washington Capitals tickets, Whitetail Resort ski passes and restaurant gift cards. Team Mia Grace shirts and bracelets will be available for purchase at the event.
All proceeds donated to the Baroukh family from the fundraiser will help with the family’s medical bills and expenses not covered by health insurance.
