Vehicle Decal Art Contest Announced

The Treasurer of the City of Falls Church is announced Wednesday its first annual Vehicle Decal Design Competition, a cash-prize contest for high school students. The first-place design will need to have a City of Falls Church theme and will be displayed on the windshields of more than 13,000 vehicles registered in the City of Falls Church. It will also become part of an exhibit at City Hall.

“We saw how successful Arlington County’s design contest was, so we wanted to do the same for the City’s vehicle decals,” said City Treasurer Jody Acosta. “The high school students in this area are amazingly talented. I can’t wait to see what artistic and memorable designs are submitted, showing pride for The Little City. This is a great way for students to learn about local government, and an excellent ‘vehicle’ for displaying their art.” This contest is open to high schools students who either reside in or go to school in the City of Falls Church. Only one entry per student is allowed. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top four entries: First Place $750, Second Place $500, Third Place $250, and Fourth Place $150. All submissions must be received by 5 p.m. on February 5 at the City’s Treasurer’s office at 300 Park Avenue, Suite 103 East, Falls Church, VA 22046.
