Registration Open for Northern Virginia Encore Chorale

Registration is now open for the winter/spring session of the Encore Chorale at locations in Northern Virginia and singers of all vocal experience, age 55 and up, are welcome to join. 15 weekly rehearsals will begin the week of Monday, Jan. 11 at locations all over Northern Virginia.

The Alexandria Encore Chorale will meet on Mondays beginning on January 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Convergence, located at 1801 N. Quaker Lane, Alexandria. Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 1:45 p.m. for the Langston Brown Encore Chorale, which meets at the Langston Brown Senior Center & Park, located at 2121 Culpeper St., Arlington.

The George Mason University Potomac Arts Academy Encore Chorale begins on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. at St. George United Methodist Church, lcoated at 4910 Ox Road, Fairfax.

Singers may be seated for rehearsals and performances. Singers will rehearse each week for 90 minutes in preparation for May performances. The spring repertoire includes “Clap Yo Hands” by George and Ira Gershwin, three wonderful medleys featuring the romantic music of Rodgers and Hart, blues favorites by Hoagy Carmichael and the exciting music of the ever popular Broadway musical “Guys and Dolls.”

The registration fee for most of the classes is $150 and include the weekly rehearsals, sheet music and performances. Singers may register at the first rehearsal or online at encorecreativity.org. For more information, call 301-261-5747.
