Creative Cauldron Winter Workshops Begin on Jan. 9

Winter workshops at Creative Cauldron begin on Saturday, Jan. 9 at ArtSpace Falls Church at 410 S. Maple St., Falls Church. Enrollment for all workshops, drama and visual arts, is now open.

On January 9, Creative Cauldron’s drama workshops begin with the first session of the Creative Drama and Learning Theater Studio workshops. During the Creative Drama workshop, which will be held on Saturdays from January 9 – February 20 from 2 – 2:45 p.m., children ages 4 – 6 can jump into the world of imagination with Creative Cauldron’s veteran drama teachers.

Creative Cauldron’s Learning Theater Studio workshop also begins on January 9. During the Learning Theater Studio workshop, children ages 6 – 8 and 9 – 13 can explore the world of acting through a small studio class that will help them learn the basics while preparing for a final showcase performance for parents and friends at the end of class.

The visual arts workshops begin on Tuesday, Jan. 12 with Art Safari and The Magic of Theatrical Design. During Art Safari, children can ages 6 – 9 will use materials, papers and paints to create a jungle with colorful plants and animals. The Magic of Theatrical Design will allow children ages 9 and up to learn the basics of scene design, making your own stage set model and costume drawings.

Both workshops run on Tuesdays from January 12 – March 15 – Art Safari will be held from 4:30 – 5:20 p.m. and The Magic of Theatrical Design will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Creative Cauldron’s other two visual arts workshops – A Colorful World and Drawing Studio – start on Thursday, Jan. 14. In A Colorful World, children 6 – 9 can use many different media for painting, drawing and printmaking. Children ages 10 and up will have a different drawing challenge every week, using both black and white and color media, with a focus on drawing what they see.

A Colorful World and Drawing Studio run on Thursdays from January 14 – March 17. A Colorful World will be held from 4:30 – 5:20 p.m. and Drawing Studio will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. For more information or to register for the workshops, visit creativecauldron.org.
