2 Bird Walks Open the New Year in Arlington

Families in the area can open the New Year by going to a bird walk at Long Branch Nature Center at Glencarlyn Park, located at 625 S. Carlin Springs Road, Arlington. The nature center is hosting a Winter Bird Walk for Families on Saturday, Jan. 2 from 10 – 11:30 a.m.

At the walk, families with children ages 6 and up can take a winter bird walk. Beginners are welcome and loaner binoculars will be available. On Wednesday, Jan. 6, the nature center is hosting a Northern Virginia Bird Club Walk from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Adults are invited to join members of the Northern Virginia Bird Club for an informal walk through Long Branch and Glencaryln Parks in search of resident and migratory birds. Birders of all skill level are welcome. Both walks are free. For more information, call 703-228-6535.
