One More Page Books Celebrates Small Business Saturday

One More Page Books, located at 2200 N. Westmoreland St., Arlington, announced its participation in the annual Small Business Saturday and Arlington Small Business Day on Saturday, Nov. 28. The store kicks off the festivities with free coffee and doughnuts in the morning and Compulsion for Giving, a book drive held in conjunction with author Martina Boone’s Compulsion for Reading campaign.

As part of Compulsion for Giving, One More Page customers may buy books at a 15 percent discount throughout the day to donate to local libraries and schools in need. The store and Martina Boone will facilitate the delivery of the donations.

Games and giveaways will take place every hour on the hour from 12 noon until 5 pm. A variety of local Young Adult authors, including Martina Boone, Jodi Meadows, Wendy Higgins, Lea Nolan, and Lisa Maxwell will participate in fun activities including Southern Gothic Book Bingo and Book Title Pictionary.

Cookies will be served during the afternoon and a free wine tasting will be held at 5 p.m. followed by a book launch party at 6:30 pm for Boone’s Persuasion, the second installment of her Heirs of Watson Island trilogy, which will in turn be followed by a Young Adult author panel featuring Higgins and Meadows. All three authors will sign their books after the panel.
