BalletNova Presents The Nutcracker in Early December

BalletNova is preparing to present a production of “The Nutcracker” from December 3 – 6 for six performances at Thomas Jefferson Community Theater, located at 125 South Old Glebe Road, Arlington.

The roles of Cavalier and Sugar Plum Fairy will be performed by 21-year-old Albert Gordon – a guest artist from the Boston Ballet – and 16-year-old Cadence Rolland from the BalletNova Conservatory.

“This elegant production and accomplished cast of over 100 will capture our imaginations as only the magic of dance can,” said Laveen Naidu, BalletNova’s new artistic director. Choreographed by Nancie Woods and Caroline Frankil Warren to Tchaikovsky’s familiar score, BalletNova’s full-length Nutcracker leads you through the story of Clara and her mysterious Uncle Drosselmayer and her adventures with giant mice, life-size dolls, faeries, beautiful Snowflakes and a lush Kingdom of the Sweets.

This year’s production was staged by Associate Artistic Director Constance Walsh. Tickets for the show cost $13 – $35 in advance, with special discounts for students under age 18 and seniors over age 65. For more information, visit balletnova.org or call 703-778-3008.
