Daniel Bennett Group Visits Mason’s Wind Ensemble

Jazz improvisation was the topic of the morning when the Daniel Bennett Group visited the wind ensemble at George Mason High School. The New York City-based group performed several standard tunes, discussed chord progressions and types of scales, as well as music careers and the discipline of how to practice.

The entire ensemble performed by ear one the band’s pieces while Mason senior Guthrie Edson improvised. The event was sponsored by the Falls Church City Band Boosters.
