McLean Rotary Club Honored for 50 Years of Service

The Rotary Club of McLean received a congratulatory citation for their 50 years of service by the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce at the chamber’s Suits & Sneakers event held at the Pavilions at Turkey Run on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Rotary Club of McLean president Lynn Heinrichs, State Farm Insurance, received the citation from Marcus Simon, owner of EKKO Title and Virginia House Delegate for the 53rd District and Tristan W. Wright, Vice President, M&T Bank.

In other awards presented at the Suits and Sneakers event McLean Rotarian and president of the McLean Insurance Agency Doug Megill was recognized with the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce & McLean Rotary Award Citizen of the Year. The Youth Recognition Award was presented to Sahara Shrestha, president of the Rotary Interact Club at Langley High School.  This club is sponsored by the Rotary Club of McLean.

The Rotary Club of McLean was founded on Nov. 10, 1965, with 22 members, and will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015 with a special evening meeting at the McLean Community Center.

The club is actively seeking to contact past members and invite them to the 50th anniversary celebration.
