Falls Church has been hit with a rash of vehicle break-ins as evidenced in the latest crime report detailing nine such incidents as well as a notice from City police warning residents to be extra cautious after 16 break-ins over the weekend. In addition to the various items stolen from the vehicles including cash, electronics, personal items and more, a vehicle was stolen on Lincoln Avenue. The latest vehicle break-in spree comes two weeks after five cars were reported broken into in the City.
In other crime news, yet another locker was broken into at 24 Hour Fitness, two people were arrested for skipping out on a bill at Applebee’s and a bicycle was stolen from a garage on W. Broad St.
City of Falls Church Crime Report: October 12 – 18, 2015
Driving Under the Influence, 700 block S. Washington St. On Oct. 12, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 41, of Arlington, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Drinking While Driving.
Larceny from Building, 200 block Pennsylvania Ave. On Oct. 13, jewelry was reported stolen from the victim’s residence.
Defrauding an Innkeeper, 127 E. Broad St. (Applebee’s) On Oct. 14, a male, 33, of Oxon Hill, MD; and a female, 40, of Temple Hills, MD, were arrested and released on summons for Defrauding an Innkeeper.
Graffiti, 404 S. Washington St. (La Miguelena Grocery) On Oct. 14, graffiti were found on a wall.
Larceny from Building, 500 block W. Broad St. On Oct. 15, a bicycle was reported stolen from a garage.
Larceny from Motor Vehicle, 700 block Poplar Dr. On Oct.15, a wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle.
Public Drunkenness, 132 W. Broad St. (Dogwood Tavern) On Oct. 17, a male, 28, of Springfield, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Larceny from Building, 1000 E. Broad St. (24 Hour Fitness) On Oct. 17, the victim reported several items were stolen from a locker.
Narcotics Violation, 500 block S. Washington St. On Oct. 18, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 25, of the City of Falls Church, was arrested and released on summons for Possession of Marijuana.

Tampering with Auto, 500 block Greenwich St. On Oct. 18, the victim’s unlocked vehicle was found in disarray.
Stolen Auto, 1100 block Lincoln Ave. On Oct. 18, police received a report of a vehicle stolen from a residence.
