Falls Church Man Found Dead at Fairfax County Jail

Fairfax County Police are investigating the death of a 68-year-old Falls Church man who died while in custody at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The police were alerted that Paul Guida, who was charged with violation of a protective order and was being held without bond since October 1, was unconscious and not breathing on Saturday, Oct. 17 around 11 p.m.

Detectives responded to the scene and are investigating the matter, the Fairfax County Police Department reported in a press release on Sunday, Oct. 18. According to the police, Guida suffered from extensive medical conditions and was housed in the Adult Detention Center’s infirmary unit.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death pending an autopsy. The Fairfax County Police Department said that they will provide an update on the investigation within 30 days.
