McLean Community Center Releases October Calendar

The McLean Community Center recently announced their event schedule for October and it includes a Kings Dominion trip, a 9/11 Museum & Memorial Tour and a Haunted Gingerbread Houses Workshop. Residents of the Center’s tax district, Small District One-A Dranesville, are eligible for discounts on fees.

McLean Community Center’s slate of October events kicks off with a performance of “Sleeping Beauty” at The Alden theater, which is located inside the McLean Community Center, on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for Small District One-A Dranesville residents and $15 per person for everyone else.

The Old Firehouse Teen Center, which is affiliated with the community center, is hosting a teacher workday trip to Kings Dominion on Friday, Oct. 9, from 9:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tickets for that trip are $70 for Small District One-A Dranesville residents and $80 per person for everyone else.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, the community center is organizing a trip to New York City’s 9/11 Museum & Memorial Tour. The group will depart for New York City at 7 a.m. and return at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $190 for Small District One-A Dranesville residents and $195 per person for everyone else.

As a run up to Halloween, the community center will host a Haunted Gingerbread Houses Workshop on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. The cost for that workshop is $35 per house for Small District One-A Dranesville residents and $45 per house for everyone else.
