George Mason High School Class Learns on Potomac

One section of George Mason High School’s international baccalaureate environmental systems and societies class traveled on the Potomac River with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation on Monday, Sept. 21.

The students learned about watershed science and how to determine the health of the river and bay by running nutrient tests, determining pH and turbidity and netting organisms to evaluate biodiversity. Throughout the week, other students of Mason’s environmental systems and societies class traveled the Potomac to learn about watershed science.
