George Mason Grad Haley Zullo Wins $750 Scholarship

by Kate Karstens

On May 31, Green Pest Services control turned their needs from maintaining pest control to providing scholarship money to rising college freshman in Virginia. Local George Mason graduate, Haley Zullo, has been one of four students awarded $750.

To be considered, students must demonstrate a need for financial aid, as well as a 3.0 GPA, and excellence in the classroom and extracurriculars. Zullo maintained a 3.5 GPA while remaining involved in sports, clubs, and helping out at home with her five younger siblings.

Haley has been a student at George Mason for five years and has contributed to the lacrosse and basketball program. She was the Editor-in-Chief of the school’s yearbook club, as well as a member of the Be the Change Club. She hopes to find alternative fuel sources for environmental stability. She has been accepted to Virginia Commonwealth University and plans to study environmental engineering.
