City Adopts Bicycle Master Plan

The Falls Church City Council voted to adopt a formal bicycle master plan as a guiding document, advancing the policies previously adopted in the Mobility for All Modes Transportation Plan approved over a year ago. An important feature of the plan is the determination that removal of on-street vehicular parking spaces will not be included, which relieves a major point of contention from earlier versions of it. The plan is “to connect the City’s commercial areas and neighborhoods, transit facilities, schools, regional bicycle facilities, and designated bicycle routes in neighboring jurisdictions.”

Development of the plan has been spearheaded by Senior Planner Paul Stoddard.
