Developers ‘Close’ on Acquisition Of Burger King Property

The Burger King on W. Broad St. in downtown Falls Church, a fixture at its current location since the early 1970s, will close within about three weeks, the News-Press learned Tuesday. The property has been sold, the closing last Thursday, to developers Ed Novak of Nova Habitat and Harley Cook of the Kensington group who will demolish the Burger King building and commence with construction of an 88-unit senior assisted living facility at the location shortly after Labor Day.

The project, which won approval by a 4-3 vote of the Falls Church City Council last winter, will include on its ground floor an art space acquired by the Falls Church Arts and a 2,000 square foot cafe with outdoor seating.
