Mary Riley Styles Public Library kicked off its Summer Reading Program, themed “Every Hero Has a Story,” yesterday afternoon with an event in the library’s Children’s Reading Room. There were activities such as glitter tattoos, crafts and balloon animals, one of which is being made by Marsha Gallagher of Just for Laughs in the image above.

The first day to sign up for the reading program, in which children, teens and adults attempt to read a specified number of books in exchange for a prize, was Monday, June 22. The last day for children and teens to sign up is Saturday, August 15, and the first day for them to turn in reading logs in exchange for prizes is Monday, August 17.

The program ends on Wednesday, September 30, for children and teens, and ends on Sunday, September 13 for adults. For more information, visit fallschurchva.gov/424/Library or call 703-248-5030.
