Penny Gross Clear Winner in Mason District Primary Race

Facing an aggressive challenge in her bid for a sixth four-year term representing the Mason District on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Penelope “Penny” Gross was up for the fight and carried a the winning margin once the polls were closed Tuesday night. With 100 percent reporting, Gross has 56.16 percent of the vote (3,028) to 43.84 for first-time candidate Jessica Swanson.

Gross is now looking to face another challenger, running as an independent, in the November general election. In the other Fairfax Supervisor primary today, Dan Storck beat a field of four for the Mt. Vernon District nod.
