No one of the Oliver family of four was home early this morning at 613 Knollwood Ave. in Falls Church when a fire broke out that gutted half of their house. That’s because the house was undergoing a major renovation that was about 10 days away from completion, according to its owners.

The fire broke out sometime before 5 a.m. and was noticed by a neighbor who emerged from her home at 5 a.m., having gone into labor, to head to the hospital. She called the fire department.
