Cadet First Sergeant Larkin Petrelles of Falls Church was officially named Fishburne Military School’s Cadet Non-Commissioned Officer of the Month for November 2014, the school announced last week.
“I am honored to get NCO of the Month because it shows all my hard work is being noticed,” Petrelles said.
Cadet of the Month is selected by a board of officers from the offices of the commandant, JROTC, headmaster and superintendent of the school.
A Cadet of the Month is selected based upon his academic, military and community achievements throughout the previous month.
Cadets who earn the award receive ten superintendent merits, ten commandant merits, one special meal and a four day pass that lasts from 6:30 p.m. on Thursday until 7 p.m. the following Monday.
“This young man has shown tremendous growth and leadership potential throughout his Fishburne career,” said Fishburne’s superintendent Gary R. Morrison.
“His efforts should serve as an example to all of us that hard work and focus are the true keys to success. Congratulations to Mr. Petrelles, his instructors and his family for a job extremely well done.”
