‘Mason Row’ Plan Adds More Land

‘Mason Row’ Plan Adds More Land

Scheduled to host another town hall meeting last night, Peter Batten the lead developer of the Spectrum Group’s “Mason Row” large scale mixed use proposal for the area adjacent the intersection of W. Broad and N. West Streets told the News-Press in advance of the meeting that latest changes to the project will include their acquisition of yet another property, expanding the land base to 4.3 acres.

The acquisition of a final parcel gives the group control of everything at that corner west of the St. James Church. The added space, Batten said, will be used to introduce more commercial retail into the project mix, and that an eight-screen movie theater is definitely part of that. He said plans were to have new renderings ready for last night’s meeting at the Community Center, where another large turnout was expected.

The proposal will be submitted to the City the second week of January, he said, with final approval being sought before the end of the first quarter of 2015.
