Encore Invites Seniors to Join 1 of its 5 Chorales

Last Friday, Encore Chorale, the nation’s largest choral singing program for adults age 55 and over, invited seniors to join one of its winter/spring chorales to be held in five locations around Northern Virginia.

Encore singers improve their voices, improve their health, meet new friends and take on the challenge of learning music in four parts in preparation to join other Encore Chorales for community concerts. There are no auditions to join any of the Encore Chorales and new singers are welcome and may sit for rehearsals and performances.

Among the Encore groups welcoming new singers are chorales in Alexandria, Arlington and McLean. The Alexandria Encore Chorale group will rehearse on Monday mornings from 10:30 am. – noon for 15 weeks starting on January 12 at Convergence, located at 1801 N. Quaker Lane, Alexandria.

The Arlington group will rehearse on Tuesday afternoons from 2 – 3:30 p.m. starting January 13 at the Langston Brown Senior Center, located at 2121 Culpepper St., Arlington. The McLean group will rehearse on Tuesday mornings from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. starting January 13 at 4260 Chain Bridge Road, McLean. For more information, visit encorecreativity.org.
