Karin Tooze, a longtime revered English teacher at George Mason High School has been nominated for the University of Chicago’s Outstanding Educator Award.

Each year, the University of Chicago invites first-year students to nominate an educator who has changed, challenged or helped them along the path toward intellectual growth. The award has existed for more than three decades.
