F.C. Vets Day Ceremony Set for Tuesday

The City of Falls Church will hold a Veterans Day ceremony at the Falls Church City Veterans Memorial in front of the Falls Church Community Center, located at 223 Little Falls St., Falls Church, on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., it was announced this week. The program will include remarks from keynote speaker Brian O’Connor, former Falls Church mayor and a former Army Reserves combat medic.

Harry Shovlin will serve as master of ceremonies for the event which will include remembrances, a tribute to those missing in action, a wreath presentation and prayer for departed veterans and performances by the Falls Church City Concert Band.

The program is being prepared by representatives of the Greater Falls Church Veterans Council including American Legion Post 130, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Martin-Leppert-Sipes Post 9274, Catholic War Veterans Paul and Jacques Martin Post 1652, Falls Church Daughters of the American Revolution, Northern Virginia WWII Veterans, the Veterans Memorial Committee and volunteers under the coordination of the Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department.
