Hit-and-Run Leaves 1 Dead in Seven Corners Area

Fairfax County Police are still investigating a hit-and-run that left one dead in the Seven Corners area of Falls Church on Friday night. According to the initial police investigation, Eliseo Hernandez Diaz, 36, of Falls Church was struck by a 2007 Volkswagen sedan while riding a 2013 Tao Tao moped traveling eastbound on the 6700 block Wilson Boulevard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers responded to the report of the crash at around 9:05 p.m. on Friday and later found the 2007 Volkswagen parked near the location of the crash, but the driver of the Volkswagen fled the scene. No one has been charged in the fatal crash.

The fatal accident on Friday was the second in the month of October to occur in the high traffic Seven Corners area. A 61-year-old woman died on Oct. 16 after being struck by a car while she was crossing Leesburg Pike near Row Street.
