F.C. Teen Opens Capital City Symphony Season

Eric Lin, a 14-year-old pianist and freshman at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, will be playing at Atlas Performing Arts Center this Sunday, Oct. 12, to help open Capital City Symphony’s 2014-2015 season. Capital City Symphony presents at least one Young Artist Concerto every season.

Lin, the winner of the 2014 Ylda Novik Memorial Concerto Competition, will play Sergei Prokofiev’s “Piano Concerto No. 3.”

He’s won several piano competitions around the nation, including a June 2014 first place finish at the Lee University Piano Competition in Cleveland, Tenn. and first place finish at the 2014 International Young Pianist Competition in Washington, D.C. He’s also performed at the Kennedy Center and the Chicago Cultural Center.

Atlas Performing Arts Center is located at 1333 H. St. NE, Washington, D.C. Sunday’s concert is free for kids, $25 for adults and $15 for students, who’ll have to show their student ID at the door for the discounted rate. Tickets are available at capitalcitysymphony.org.
