F.C. Veterans Council Picnic Set for Oct. 13

Bentley’s Restaurant is supporting the Greater Falls Church Veterans Council’s third annual Veterans Picnic on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Cherry Hill Park in Falls Church. Open to the public, the event will take place from noon – 4 p.m. and include music from local students and a traditional BBQ picnic provided and prepared by Bentley’s staff.

A remembrance ceremony will be held honoring Tony Scerbo who served as Chairman Emeritus of the POW/MIA Committees for the Council and for The American Legion. Remarks will be provided by the Japanese-American Veterans Association and local citizens will be honored for their work on behalf of veterans. This year’s honorees include Roger Neighborgall, a former military Ranger; John Johnson, a veterans’ programs activist; and Robert and Emily Winterbottom, who lost their son in the Iraq conflict in 2007.
