Vegan Restaurant Replacing Pie-tanza in Falls Plaza

nativefood429Fast casual vegan restaurant Native Food Café is coming to the space vacated by Pie-Tanza in the Falls Plaza Shopping Center. Pie-Tanza shuttered in the Falls Church strip mall two weeks ago.

City of Falls Church business development manager Becky Witsman told the News-Press representatives from Native Food have contacted the City for building permits and should have them soon. She says the restaurant already has approvals from the Fairfax County Health Department and a contractor told her he expects it to take about six weeks for construction before they can open their doors. Native Foods, founded in Palm Springs, California in 1994, serves a lineup of fresh homemade vegan dishes designed to “please the palates of vegans and non-vegans alike.”

In addition to the upcoming Falls Church restaurant, two other D.C. Native Foods locations are slated to open later this month and next. Native Foods Café will be located at 1216 West Broad Street in Falls Church.
