Dogwood Teams Up with Catoctin Creek; Menu Revamp Planned

On Monday, Dogwood Tavern held a release event for Catoctin Creek’s Roundstone Rye, celebrating the Falls Church sports bar’s collaboration with the Loudoun County distillery.

Paul Taylor, beverage director for Vintage Restaurant Group, is working on getting the Virginia spirit program built up at Dogwood, especially because the restaurant’s concept is all about the Old Dominion. Up next for collaboration, Taylor says, is Commonwealth Gin located in Windsor.

As part of Monday’s release event, Dogwood featured a lineup of Catoctin rye-based cocktails including a Virginia peanut-infused Old Fashioned made with Virginia honey syrup and aromatic bitters. The drink, called The Virginian, will be available on the restaurant’s cocktail menu later this fall.

Also in store for Dogwood, a menu revamp which Taylor says will be revealed in the next few weeks.
