Last week, the Bailey’s Crossroads Rotary Club (BXRC) announced their plans to open a new meeting venue, according to a press release from the BXRC.
According to the release, BXRC aims to bring the benefits of Rotary International to the faculty and staff of J.E.B. Stuart High School by starting a new meeting inside of the school, in addition to their current meeting at the Falls Church Goodwin House on Fridays at 7 a.m.
The BXRC and staff and faculty at Stuart have had several cooperative efforts in the past to bring programs and enrichment opportunities to the Stuart students, the release said. And, according to the release, staff and faculty at Stuart have been interested in joining the BXRC for a long time. But because the BXRC’s only meeting time prior to this announcement was on a morning during the school week, it was nearly impossible for faculty and staff at the school to make it to meetings.
BXRC president Harry Henderson is working out a day and time for the new meeting and planning will continue into the new school year.
