McLean Youth Orchestra Hires New Director

Last Tuesday the McLean Orchestra announced that they hired established Washington, D.C. conductor John Devlin as the new director of the McLean Youth Orchestra, which is an educational project of the McLean Orchestra.

Devlin is also the music director of the Youth Orchestras of Prince William (VA), associate conductor of the Capital City Symphony and the assistant conductor of the Apollo Symphony, according to the press release.

He also works with the National Symphony and he’s conducted at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and Strathmore.

According to the release, Devlin is an active conductor of high school and collegiate orchestras and is a strong advocate for new music.
