Acosta Formally the Democratic Party Nominee for F.C. Treasurer

As the deadline for filing passed late yesterday, Betty Coll, chair of the Falls Church City Democratic Committee announced that Jody Acosta, sworn in last week as the City’s acting treasurer in the wake of the resignation for health reasons of Cathy Kaye, has secured the Democratic Party’s nomination for the November special election to fill the vacancy.

Coll announced that no other candidate, other than Acosta, had filed as a candidate and that a special party caucus set up to decide the nominee on Tuesday was thus cancelled. Acosta’s formal nomination was met with numerous congratulatory comments praising her work and qualifications posted on line in the last hours.
