The big news in the Falls Church Crime Report this week is last Tuesday’s armed robbery of the Capital One Bank on West Broad Street. The City and the FBI have released photos of the suspect which can be found here.
In other crime, a locker was broken into and items were stolen from 24 Hour Fitness, the Kim Phuoc Jewelry Repair store on Wilson Boulevard was robbed, there were four people cited for smoking at Eden Center and there were two DUIs and two arrested for public drunkenness.
City of Falls Church Crime Report: July 14-20, 2014
Larceny from Building, 1000 E. Broad St. (24 Hour Fitness) On July 14, police received a report that personal items were stolen from a locker sometime on July 13.
Robbery, 1100 W. Broad St. (Capital One Bank) On July 15, an unknown suspect with a long knife demanded cash from one of the bank’s tellers. The suspect, described as a 5’6″ to 5’9″ non-white male with a slender build, fled the bank on foot heading northbound on Falls Avenue after receiving an undisclosed amount of money.
Smoking Violation, 6757 Wilson Blvd. Suite 16 (Le Mirage) On July 19, a male, 39, of Fairfax; and a male, 32, of Springfield, were cited for Smoking In a Non-Designated Area.
Public Drunkenness, 6757 Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) On July 19, a male, 44, of McLean, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Smoking Violation, 6795 Wilson Blvd. Suite 1 (Metro Cafe) On July 19, a male, 44, of Alexandria, was cited for Smoking In a Non-Designated Area.
Public Drunkenness, 300 block N. Washington St. On July 19, a male, 50, of Capitol Heights, MD, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to a Blood or Breath Test, 200 block N. Washington St. On July 19, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 32, of Capitol Heights, MD, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
Smoking Violation, 6757 Wilson Blvd. Suite 16 (Le Mirage) On July 19, a male, 60, of Reston, was cited for Smoking In a Non-Designated Area.
Driving Under the Influence, Narcotics Violation, and Eluding Police, 400 block Hillwood Ave. On July 20, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 22, of the City of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Possession of Marijuana, and Eluding Police.
Commercial Burglary, 6757 Wilson Blvd. Suite 26 (Kim Phuoc Jewelry Repair) On July 20, police received a report that unknown suspect(s) entered the store and stole various items.
