Dems Set Caucus to Pick Treasurer Nominee

The Falls Church City Democratic Committee announced this week it will hold a caucus to select a candidate to be the party’s nominee for the office of Falls Church City treasurer in a special election set for this November 4. The committee authorized the holding of an unassembled caucus at its monthly meeting Tuesday. Former F.C. Treasurer Cathy Kaye announced her resignation last month due to health reasons and Jody Acosta, the City’s deputy treasurer, was sworn in Wednesday to fill the position in the interim period before the November election.

The Democratic Party candidate pre-filing deadline is set for Friday, July 25 by 5 p.m. The unassembled caucus is scheduled for the following week.
