Woman Stabbed Watching Fireworks in F.C. Area Parking Lot

Fairfax County Police say a 65-year-old woman was stabbed last night while watching fireworks from a parking lot just over the Falls Church City line on Leesburg Pike.

According to police reports, around 10:25 p.m. the woman was sitting in a shopping center parking lot at 7129 Leesburg Pike, with a group of friends watching fireworks. An unknown male approached the woman from behind and stabbed her in the upper body. The suspect fled on foot and a witness gave chase but lost sight of him.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her serious but non life-threatening injuries. The suspect was described as white, possibly 18 to 20 years old, with short blonde hair. He was wearing a white tank top and shorts.

Detectives are hopeful someone in the area may have seen the incident or the suspect and have information.
