F.C. Vice Mayor Snyder Elected to Statewide Transit Group

snydermugThe Virginia Transit Association (VTA) unanimously elected City of Falls Church Vice Mayor David Snyder as vice president of the association at its meeting on June 3. Snyder has served on the Falls Church City Council since 1994 and as Mayor and Vice Mayor.

Snyder has been a strong advocate for public transit in many leadership positions including the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. VTA is a coalition of transit professionals from public and private organizations; it includes transit systems from across the state, businesses that serve transit systems and local government officials and organizations concerned about transportation, mobility, affordable access to employment and quality of life issues.

Founded in 1977, the Virginia Transit Association (VTA) provides public education and legislative advocacy to support public transportation throughout the Commonwealth.
