F.C. Plein Air Painters to Earn Honors Saturday

417pleinairThis Saturday will mark the culmination of the fifth annual Falls Church Plein Air Festival. That day at ArtSpace Falls Church, entries to the festival contest will be judged, awards will be presented, and visitors will have their say for The People’s Choice Award.

Plein Air Painter Bobbi Pratte will be judging the contest. Four cash prizes will be awarded to artists for the following honors: The Don Beyer Volvo-KIA Plein Air Prize, The Tori McKinney Rock Star Realtor Plein Air Prize, The Falls Church Arts President’s Prize, and The People’s Choice Award. All visitors and artists will vote on their favorite painting, and the winner will receive a cash prize from the entry fees for the show.

The ArtSpace doors will open at 11 a.m., and a light brunch will be served. Winners will be announced around noon by Pratte, and photos of the winners with the award sponsor will be taken immediately afterwards. The paintings will be on sale and on display at ArtSpace for the month of June and July. The entire event is free and open to all.

The ballot box will open at 11 a.m. for The People’s Choice Award; voting will occur throughout the day and winners will be announced in the June 26 issue of the Falls Church News-Press.
