F.C. 4th-Grade Runner Breaks 10-Mile World Record

Falls Church City resident Rheinhardt Harrison, a fourth grader at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, recently set the 10-mile world record in the 10-year-old age group at the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run in April 2014.

Rheinhardt is now going to challenge the 10-year-old age group half-marathon world record by running the Alexandria Running Festival Half Marathon and 5K on Sunday, May 25.

Noah Bliss recently set the current half-marathon world record during the Wisconsin Half-Marathon in 1:37:15; a 7:24 pace per mile. Rheinhardt’s 10-mile world record of 1:11:24 was a 7:08 pace per mile. He intends to run a 7:15 per mile pace to set a new half-marathon world record of 1:35:00.
