5 F.C. Students Earn McDonald’s Scholarships

The McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C. awarded 42 scholarships have been awarded to area students, including five from Falls Church.

Celia Islam of George C. Marshall High School, Alexander Nguyen of George Mason High School, Nancy Pham of Falls Church High School, and Melisa Quiroga-Herrera and Danitza Rodriguez of J.E.B. Stuart High School received scholarships. Winning students demonstrated dedication to volunteerism, leadership, academic excellence and character.

More than 500 applications were received and reviewed by a panel of judges that included greater Washington, D.C. McDonald’s owners and operators. Scholarship amounts range from $5,000 to $1,500, and go directly to the college or university the student plans to attend in the fall.
