Mount Daniel School Collects Supplies for Ghana Students

Mount Daniel School first-graders have been learning about the country and culture of Ghana as part of their PYP unit “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” The students have begun their 11th annual Ghana Fund Drive. Those who wish to participate can bring donations to the school any time until May 5. A box to drop off items is located outside the main office.

In connection with Peacework International, the drive will be collecting the following supplies to support school children in Ghana: new or gently used backpacks, shoes (closed toe), socks, and children’s books, as well as new composition books (or other notepads), construction paper, markers, pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, coloring books, staplers, and highlighters.

Donors may also send in monetary contributions to support the purchase of school uniforms and needed classroom materials, with checks made payable to Mount Daniel School with the words “Ghana Project” in the memo section. Peacework International is a 501(c)-3 status organization, so contribution are tax deductible.
