Peter Kiley, vice president of Affiliate Relations at C-SPAN, will be honored by the University of San Diego on April 26. Kiley, who earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from USD in 1985, will receive the Author E. Hughes Career Achievement Award from the university’s College of Arts and Sciences.
A seasoned veteran at C-SPAN, Kiley has managed the national public affairs network’s relationships with cable television operators, satellite companies, and other multi-channel video providers. Kiley began as an intern at the network more than 28 years ago and since that time, he has held numerous positions at C-SPAN. From 1996 to 2000, he managed the network’s two 45-foot high-tech “school buses” as they toured the country to produce programs and advance the community and education efforts of cable operators.
Kiley has also become C-SPAN’s respected ambassador to the cable industry, serving on numerous boards and industry-related committees. CableFAX Magazine has honored him as one of “Cable’s Top 100 Power Players” and in 2004 named him their “Nicest Guy in Cable.”
Kiley and his wife, Susan, reside in Falls Church with their three children.
