Mason High Charter Bus Breaks Down on Way to South Carolina

A charter bus carrying student musicians from George Mason High School to a band competition in South Carolina broke down in North Carolina this afternoon.

A release from Falls Church City Schools Director of Communications John Brett said that smoke was noticed in the passenger area of the bus before the vehicle was evacuated and a local fire department called. No injuries were reported. This was one of two buses carrying students down for the weekend competition in Myrtle Beach. A replacement bus is expected to arrive and take the students the rest of the way to South Carolina.
