Saturday Town Hall Set for Council Chambers

The second in a series of town hall meetings on the City of Falls Church’s Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15) budget will be held this Saturday in the Council Chambers at City Hall, as budget deliberations are now underway.

The town hall forum will be moderated by City Manager Wyatt Shields.

It follows an unofficial event tonight at 7:30 p.m, also in the Council chambers, chaired by Carol Loftur-Thun of the Citizens for a Sustainable City and Sally Ekfelt, former School Board member.

The schedule of the City Council for the rest of this month includes work sessions on April 7 and April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dogwood Room at City Hall, a regular Council meeting and public hearing rescheduled from April 14 to April 16 at 7:30 p.m. the Council chambers in City Hall, a work session at a location to be determined on April 17, a final budget mark-up work session on April 21 at 7:30 in the Dogwood Room at City Hall, and the adoption of the budget and final public hearing at a regular City Council business meeting on April 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Correction: An earlier version of this article, and an article in the News Briefs section of this week’s print edition, inaccurately stated that the meeting was moved in anticipation large citizen turnout.
