Former Bush Official Arrested in Sexual Assault

Sloan Wilson Rappoport, 43, of Arlington, identified as a former official in the George W. Bush administration, was arrested by Fairfax Police Tuesday on charges of abduction, sexual battery and obscene display stemming from an incident that took place at a Ross clothing store in the Bailey’s Crossroads area of Falls Church. Following up an a series of tips from the Jan. 31 incident, detectives identified the subject, contacted him and met with him in the Fairfax Adult Detention Center on Tuesday, and as a result charged him.

According to Fairfax County police, on Jan. 31, around 6 p.m., a 28-year-old woman was shopping in the store in the 5800 block of Crossroads Center Way when she was approached by a man who spoke to her in Spanish. As she was leaving the store, the man pulled up in his silver-colored Mercedes, asked her to get in and she did. He locked the doors, drove to a location nearby and sexually assaulted her. The victim escaped and fled.
