2 Mason Students Named Language Ambassadors

George Mason High School Mandarin Chinese students Veronica Leeman and Jackson Leeman were selected to join the flagship cohort of the 100,000 Strong Student Ambassador Program. President Barack Obama announced the 100,000 Strong initiative in 2009. It is a national effort designed to increase the number and diversify the composition of American students studying in China

As student ambassadors,Leeman and Leeman will share their story of learning Mandarin Chinese with other young Americans. They will participate in a four-day Project Penyou Leadership Summit at Harvard University from March 20 – 23.
