Eight teams created delicious and nutritious meals for the quarterly Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School seventh-grade Husky Chef cooking competition this week. A panel of judges named Team Killem and Awesome Sauce the winners of the competition. Team Killem made pesto chicken pasta, and Awesome Sauce prepared Buffalo wings and homemade macaroni and cheese. All the teams were tasked with making a chicken-focused meal that complied with USDA guidelines for school cafeteria food. The winning teams will soon take to the school’s kitchen to help in creating their meals for the entire student body.
