Chinese New Year Festival Returns Feb. 1

The Asian Community Service Center’s seventh annual Chinese New Year Festival will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Luther Jackson Middle School.

The free-admission one-day event will feature live performances and other festivities including a dragon and lion dance, a Han costume fashion show, Asian foods, craft and business booths, activities for children, and a Lunar New Year dragon parade. Miss Vietnam DC is scheduled to welcome festival guests.

As a new highlight this year, the festival will promote the traditional  Chinese cultural value of filial piety, or loyalty to parents.

If the school closes due to inclement weather, the festival will be held the following Saturday, Feb. 8.

Luther Jackson Middle School is located at 3020 Gallows Road, Falls Church. For more information, visit ChineseNewYearFestival.org.
